The Carbon Disclosure Project is an independent not-for-profit organisation holding the largest database of primary corporate climate change information in the world.
The CDP Ireland Report 2011 begins preparation this week with many of Ireland's leading companies being asked to participate. Over 50% of Irish PLCs are now reporting their emissions and climate change strategy through the CDP and over 80% of the global fortune 500 now report to the CDP.

Clearstream Solutions has extensive experience in helping companies both in Ireland and overseas to measure their carbon emissions and to comply with carbon reporting standards such as CDP. It is now possible to input responses online at the CDP website where you can also download the CDP questionnaire and submission guides.

Green Awards

The Green Awards 2011 will take place on Thursday, April 14th at the Burlington Hotel, Dublin. The closing date for entries is February 25th and all entries can now be submitted using the online entry system on the new & improved Green Awards website.

The 2011 Awards will also include a new category - 'The Waste to Business Resource Award' which will recognise companies that turn the waste created by one process into a resource which can be used in the creation of new business opportunities.

Congratulations to Vodafone who this week launched their new environmental report, 'The Journey to Sustainability'. Vodafone have surpassed targets set for carbon emission reduction and are a great example of best practice in corporate sustainability.

Minister Eamon Ryan praised Vodafone's achievement in the public launch of their Green Agenda this week, on board Ireland's first electric boat powered by green energy.
Vodafone are to be commended for their innovation in producing this environmental report and for their overall commitment to sustainability in business.

The keynote speaker on the day will be Yvo de Boer, until recently Executive Secretary of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.

CDP is the largest database of primary corporate climate change information in the world. Thousands of organizations from across the world’s major economies measure and disclose their greenhouse gas emissions and climate change strategies through CDP.  It is fast becoming a global standard for corporate reporting on sustainability and an increasing number of financial institutions and fund managers use the CDP to measure sustainability.

Perhaps now is the time to put additional focus into your organisations sustainability performance?
